Diplomacy 2020: Women in Diplomacy masters
With a focus on women in the diplomatic corps, MSNBC has brought on three experts to cover the 2020 elections.
The first panelists will be:Amy Baskin, professor of international relations at Cornell University and author of The Power of Women in International Politics, who will discuss how women’s roles in international politics have evolved over the past several decades.
The second panelists are:Evelyn Fox, a visiting scholar at the Center for American Progress, who’ll discuss how she is using feminist politics to strengthen the feminist movement and the work of women in international diplomacy.
And the third panelists, Elizabeth Brown, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, will explain how the work that she is doing in the fields of peacekeeping, diplomacy and development is part of the ongoing efforts to expand women’s voices in international affairs.
“Diplomacy is the art of diplomacy,” Brown said.
“Diplomatic missions are often the only thing you see on the news, and it’s often women who are at the forefront of those missions.”
It’s an incredibly important time to be a woman in international relations.
But the only way you can really get involved in that is to be an expert in that field.
“As for the other candidates, Fox said: “The only thing that can help me is to get involved, because I know I’m a really good ambassador.
So I know what I’m talking about.
I’m really looking forward to the next chapter in my career.
